I have decided to learn some photography

I have all kinds of cameras around the house so I am presently learning how to use them. I won't be putting any photos up unless I think I took a picture of something interesting. So there won't be photos of my feet or anything here. Hee,hee.

I am still doing art by hand. Which I am very slow at. I am checking in on my favorite people from time to time though . Take Care

If you already knew about it then that is okay. But if not the manual is very useful.

When you learn to use more of the tools and filters you might try some of the online tutorials on places like gimp talk and GUG. I forget exactly what that stands for but you can find it if you just search for gimp tutorials. That is how I learned the things I know about it and many others learn that way. But don't try a tutorial unless you have learned how Gimp iworks because they don't always give you step by step instructions on the basic functions. They will just generally tell you how to do it..

I am glad I could help. You can get a lot of info from the online manual if you go to help on the tool kit. It is the small window that pops up first when you open Gimp. It has only three menu headings. File, Xtns and Help. I learned a lot from the manual. You can also usually check it out of libraries and buy it if you want a book, from most book stores.

There is a menu above the picture you will be working on. In that menu there are several headings like, File, Edit, select, view, image, layer, tools, dialogs, Filters, Phython-fu, Script_fu. (and Video if you have added the animation pack.) Click on the dialogs heading. You will see another menu appear below it. Click on layers. Then the layers dialog box will soon appear.

OK. Um, I'm trying to open up that one window that shows what layer you're on. But I'm having issues with that.:cries: Do you know how to open it? Then I'll finally be able to see if I can use them right.
